HC Chat (HCC)

We are pleased to announce the launch of our group chat, available to our Premium members. The HC Chat is a place where you can engage in live conversations with fellow HC members, similar to the messenger. The HC Chat will be referred to as "HCC" throughout the site.

Important! Before you start using the HCC, please read the following:

• When you click to launch the chat window, it will automatically log you in. Please note that this process may take a few seconds, thus do not close the log in window before you are logged in to HCC. If you have installed a pop-up blocker, make sure it is disabled (depending on the type of pop-up blocker, holding down the 'CTRL' key may temporarily disable the pop-up block).
  
  
• When you are logged in you will see a list of all the members who are logged in to HCC.
  
  
• The HC Chat works like any other group chat application. However, you will also have the option to private chat with other members. You can set up a private room where participants need to know the name of the room in order to enter.
  
  
• You may choose to not receive messages from selected members by clicking the member username and then the "Block" icon. This will allow you to continue your chat session as normal, however you will not see any messages posted by members you have blocked.
  
  
• If you want to "whisper" to a member, simply click on the member's username and write a message in the chat window. Only the member you have selected will be able to read your message
  
  
• If you want to view a member profile, click on the member's username and then click the "View profile" icon.
  
  
• When a member requests a private chat session you will receive a pop-up message that asks if you want to join the session. Click "yes" and you will initiate the chat. Click "no" to deny chat session.
  
  
• If you log out of HoustonConnect.com, you can still be logged in to the HCC and vice versa. Thus, if you are logged in to both the site and the chat, you need to log out of both in order to disconnect completely from HoustonConnect.com.
